SC XMAS 2015 decorations RSThe downtown Silver City scene with their 2015 holiday decorations.

The Silver City Art Association invites you to take an "Art Walk" through the Silver City downtown galleries on Saturday, December 5. There will be numerous artist's opening shows and open houses with an array of new art work and fine crafts by our local art community. The day of celebrations begins when galleries open and continues as late as 7 p.m.

Among the galleries with special events are: Leyba & Ingalls Arts, artist reception 5 p.m. till 7 p.m.; Copper Quail Gallery, artist reception from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. for featured artists John and Nancy Wachholz; Lois Duffy Gallery, reception 10 a.m. till 5 p.m.; and Raven's Nest and Molly Ramolla Gallery, reception 4 p.m. till 7 p.m. All of these are "with refreshments!" The Blue Dome Gallery and Wild West Weaving have announced that they will also be having special artist receptions on December 5.

Other downtown galleries with planned events for December 5 are Soul River Gallery with an artist reception for Santa Fe Artist Chuck Volz, Tree Spirit Gallery with a New Hopi Art reception 3 p.m. till 6 p.m. and The Place @ 108's Artist reception titled "4 Brave Women" with 10% of reception profits going for a brighter Christmas at the El Refugio Battered Women's Shelter. Wrap up your day in style with the 5 p.m. till 7 p.m. reception and refreshments at Moonstruck Art Gallery.

Those favorite streets in downtown Silver City, Texas, Yankie and Bullard will be teeming with activity and excitement on December 5th. In the galleries, the artist will be presenting their best in wall art and fine crafts for the holiday shopper who is looking for the unique and special gifts most often found in those created by our local art community. It's a day for locals and visitors alike to explore Silver City, support the arts and have a day of shopping fun!
