Reverend Azaima Anderson will be offering a workshop called "Untame Yourself," Saturday April 9 from 10 am to 4 pm at her Heart and Wings Retreat Center in Silver City. The cost of the workshop is $25. To register and for directions, call 575 956-9419 or email azaima@heartlightning.com.

The event will show people how to claim their voice, unlearn the shoulds, align with what's right for them, get out of their own way, and move forward on purpose. .

"Over the course of our lives, we have been conditioned in many ways that don't necessarily serve us or society as a whole," she remarked. "From the educational system, through the medical system, the mainstream media, and even the food we eat, we have often been misinformed and directed away from what would best serve us and the world. The world needs our creativity, our light, and our innovations. If we simply do as we're told, no one will benefit from our ideas," she added.

The "Untame Yourself" workshop will help people identify ways they have been indoctrinated, whether consciously or unconsciously, to toe the line. Once these have been identified, Anderson will offer a variety of ways to break free. Azaima created one of those methods, herself, called Heart Lightning, a mind/body therapy that quickly releases mental and emotional blocks. Following on the heels of the release of "Untamed,"her fifth album of original songs, Anderson saw the need to go deeper into the subject.

As a performing songwriter, interfaith minister, retreat guide and healer, Azaima has a unique combination of skills to help people break free from others' expectations and reorient themselves toward what they want to be and do.

"Azaima heals through many modalities. She shows wonderful compassion and caring as she works with you through problems," noted Erika May Randolph, psychotherapist, songwriter and musician.

"I just noticed a huge improvement. Azaima has an uncanny ability to ask the right questions; she helped me put together origins of my fear in my head until it was no longer so fearsome. I still don't understand it, but it works," commented writer, Suzanne Thompson.
