Silver City, NM - The Town of Silver City is seeking public input on a new Bicycle Master Plan. A public meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the second floor conference room of the City Annex building at the corner of Hudson and 12thSt. The general public is encouraged to attend.

The Bicycle Master Plan is being developed by Community by Design with staff experienced in bicycle planning throughout the state. Public input is critical in order to create a plan that incorporates the needs and concerns of the Town's citizens and visitors.

Proposed bicycle route maps, and highlights of the draft plan will be discussed at the meeting, including the process of identifying optimal biking routes and preferred treatments within the 10.7 square mile area of the Town.

The final plan will include recommendations for education and outreach to encourage bicycle use and to promote bicycle awareness and safety among diverse groups. The plan will provide recommendations of specific projects and include estimated costs and potential funding sources.

This will be the only public meeting for this planning process. For those who are not able to attend that evening you can submit written comments to the Office of Sustainability, P.O. Box 1188, Silver City, NM 88062 or by email to denisesmithnpc@gmail.com.
