A certified New Mexico Alcohol Server Training class will be provided in Silver City on Monday, May 23, by Border Area Mental Health Services from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 315 S. Hudson St., in suite 11.

Instructor Steve May said the class will cover a broad range of topics including state alcohol laws, DWI laws, facts about alcohol, responsible serving practices, preventing sales and service to minors, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

This class is for first-time students who want to become certified to sale and serve alcohol in New Mexico as well as for people who need to be re-certified to continue in their jobs in the alcohol sales and service industry, according to May.

Cost of the class is $35 and is payable in cash or by money orders, cashier's checks and business checks. No personal checks are accepted, May said.

For more information or to pre-enroll for the class, contact May in Silver City at (575) 388-4497.
