Silver City, NM - The Town of Silver City is seeking public input on the final draft of the Bicycle Master Plan. A final public meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM in the 2nd floor conference room of the City Annex I building at the corner of Hudson and 12thSt. The general public is encouraged to attend.

The Bicycle Master Plan is being developed by Community by Design with staff experienced in bicycle planning throughout the state. Public input is critical in order to create a plan that incorporates the needs and concerns of the Town's citizens and visitors.

The draft plan recommends a combination of road improvements and development of trails to create an integrated network of bicycle facilities that serves the transportation and recreational needs of a wide variety of users. Strategies for the continued development of bicycle-friendly roads and trails for active transportation and recreation are outlined, with emphasis on the need to address bicycle facilities during road maintenance, construction, and reconstruction, and when important public investment and land use decisions are made.

This will be the final public meeting for this planning process. For those who are not able to attend that evening you can submit written comments to the Office of Sustainability, P.O. Box 1188, Silver City, NM 88062 or by email to denisesmithnpc@gmail.com.
