The Silver City Museum needs volunteers on the 4th of July. The museum is hosting its 33rd Annual Ice Cream Social on Monday, July 4, 2016. The museum has activities for children, a cake walk, music, sodas, water, popcorn, and, of course, ice cream.

Ice cream dippers, float makers, soda and water sellers, popcorn makers and sellers, cakewalk helpers, and games helpers are all needed to make a go of this old-fashioned fun time. Volunteers are also needed to help decorate the courtyard, set up on the morning of the 4th, and to tear down when the festivities are over.

The museum would appreciate the participation of those of you who would like to help and those of you who would like to come on out after the parade to have fun, listen to music, and eat ice cream.

The Silver City Museum creates opportunities for residents and visitors to explore, understand, and celebrate the rich and diverse cultural heritage of southwestern New Mexico by collecting, preserving, researching, and interpreting the region's unique history. For more information, please contact the museum at (575) 538-5921, education@silvercitymuseum.org, or go to the museum's website www.silvercitymuseum.org.
