Silver City, NM--June 29, 2014 - All Gila National Forests offices and ranger stations will be closed on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day and will resume regular business hours Tuesday, July 5.

No fire restrictions are in effect, however if you plan to have a campfire we ask you to never leave your campfire unattended, have enough water and a shovel to put your fire out cold to the touch when you leave, and to please remember that fireworks are never allowed on National Forests.

Residents and visitors are asked to be aware of wildfire conditions in our area and take appropriate prevention measures. Remember fireworks are never permitted on public lands.
