Lotus wrightii rsLotus wrightiiLupinus argenteus rsLupinus argenteusOn Sunday, July 17, 2016, the Gila Native Plant Society will conduct a field trip, led by Kevin Keith, to Tadpole Ridge via Trail 232 from Sheep Corral Canyon. This moderate hike will take us through large-diameter mixed conifer and Gambel's oak with a diverse understory of shrubs and herbaceous plants. The legume family is well represented with lotus, lupine and vetch currently in bloom. Starting elevation 7300'. All those interested in participating should meet a little before 8 a.m. in the south parking lot of the Fine Arts Center Theatre on the WNMU campus for carpooling. The Gila Native Plant Society conducts field trips on the third Sunday of each month from April through September. Each field trip will be to a different location, in order to explore the diversity of our native plants. All field trips are free and open to the public.
