If you believe that a significant part of whatever success you have achieved in life is due to the education you received in your youth, remember that not all children are fortunate enough to have some of the advantages you had. When 2GB computer jump drives can be purchased for little more than $2 each, how much of a hardship would it be for you to buy ten (10) and donate them to one of your local schools?

Remember: these children are not likely to become self-supporting, contributing members of society when they become adults if they don't get a solid education now. A hand up is not the same as a handout. Pay it forward.

The Silver City Woman's Annual School Supply Drive donations are not coming in as they did last year, and they need your HELP!!! Last year they provided two large boxes for every Cobre, Silver and Cliff school.

They want to fill all their boxes again this year.

The Silver City Woman's Club is holding their annual school supply drive and is accepting donations of an assortment of items.

School items sought include spiral notebooks, dry board markers and erasers, glue sticks, hand sanitizers, rubber erasers, No 2 pencils, 2 gigabyte jump drive, tissue and children's books. The supply drive began on June 1, and will run through August 1.

School supplies may be dropped off at the Woman's Club, 411 Silver Heights Blvd. In Silver City. Collection hours are on Monday's from 8-12. Donations may also be left before club meetings, which are held at 10:30 a.m. on the second Friday of each month.
