Lone Mtn Natives RSTricia Hurley, co-owner of Lone Mountain Natives, teaches students about native and non-native plants at the Silver City Recreation Center. The Recreation Center received a Keep New Mexico Beautiful, Inc. grant this spring which paid for numerous trees, shrubs, and perennial wildflowers. Aldo Leopold High School students and students and staff from the Recreation Center's summer program participated in the plantings. Lone Mountain Natives provided design and consultation as well as all the plants. This was a collaborative project supported by the Gila Native Plant Society, the staff of the Recreation Center, Lone Mountain Natives and KNMB, Inc.
