There will be two Open Houses on the east side of Grant County to meet the candidates on Sunday, August 14. One will be hosted by Don and Becky Spann and the Grant County Federated Republican Women and held at The Old Hurley Store at 99 Cortez Avenue in Hurley from 4 to 5:45 p.m. The second will be hosted by Grant County Conservatives and held at the Round Up Lodge in San Lorenzo from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The following candidates will attend: Judge Stephen French - NM Court of Appeals, Nora Espinoza - Secretary of State, Rebecca Dow - Legislative District 38, John Zimmerman - Legislative District 39, Henry Torres - Commissioner Dist. 3, Billy Billings - Commissioner Dist. 4, and Harry Pecotte - Commissioner Dist. 5. Refreshments will be served. Voter registration will also be available. Come and learn about what these candidates stand for and what they plan on doing once elected. It is not often that Grant County residents are privileged to have candidates from Santa Fe visit our rural communities.
