Struttin her stuff RSStruttin' Her Stuff! The Silver City Art Assoication has announced the winner of the 2016 Dias de los Muertos Poster Contest. FeVa Fotos photographer Sandy Feutz's photo "Struttin' Her Stuff!" was the winner and it will be used on the annual poster for this year's event. The image that was captured with her camera is of Buck Burns' spectacular float for last year's Dias de los Muertos parade and was shot against beautiful New Mexico blue skies. The poster is being designed by Tasha Cooper. In addition to being used on the 2016 poster , the winning entry will be matted and framed and presented along with other juried entries of local art at the Silver City Visitor Center. The special show commemorating this event will be available for viewing from October 19 to November 13.

Buck Burns said that he is honored to have his float featured on the poster and as part of the publicity for this year's community event. And to make it even more exciting, he is planning a "mate", a mariachi , for last year's "grand lady" and it will be first seen in this year's parade !

Photographers Sandy Feutz and her husband Tom Vaughan are local photographers whose work is often seen at Copper Quail Gallery and Pinos Altos Art Gallery as well as area art shows. Their motto is "Share the Joy". Sandy says, "Looking for an entry for this competition I was reminded of the smiles and joy that this float brought to those seeing it in the parade. Thank you Buck Burns for creating it! There are so many talented artists in our area. I was surprised and delighted to have my entry chosen."
