Will you be compliant with the new Fair Labor Standards Act rules that do into effect December 1, 2016?

Nonprofits are facing a bevy of new regulations this year, including the U.S. Department of Labor's changes to Federal Fair Labor Standards Act, which classifies employees as exempt from minimum wage and overtime laws that goes into effect on December 31.

Learn about the new FLSA rules along with other common nonprofit compliance issues.

The Nonprofit Resource Group is offering a Nonprofit Compliance Workshop on Thursday, September 22, 2016, from 9 a.m. to noon in Silver City with regional experts to clarify the changing regulations. The workshop costs $25 per person.

Workshop presenters include: Elizabeth Korsmo, NM Attorney General's Office; Kenneth Ortiz, NM Secretary of State's Administrator of Business Services; Ruth Beach, NM Taxation and Revenue Department, and Gilbert Sanchez of Kemp Smith Law's Labor and Employment Department.

These experts will offer strategies on how nonprofits can communicate the upcoming changes to their respective management, board of directors and employees.
