Red Hot! Red Dot! Call to Artists!

The Silver City Art Association is seeking entries for the Red Hot, Red Dot Art Couture Fashion Show, which is scheduled for the Red Dot Art Fest and Studio Tour closing reception festivities on October 16 at the Seedboat Gallery. There will be music, champagne, chocolates and art couture-Art inspired fashion on a canvas of bodies! This is the exciting grand finale to the Red Dot Art Fest and Studio Tour that takes place October 7-16 !

Participants in the Art Couture Fashion Show will be selected based upon the following criteria: Wearable Art, which transcends the ordinary, expresses creative design beyond process and is visually exciting. Preference will be given to entries that lend themselves to the Red Hot, Red Dot theme and those that represent haute couture. Additionally, hand-made, upcycled, recycled and one-of-a-kind items will be given top priority. Wearable Art Couture encompasses clothing, accessories such as hats, scarves, jewelry and shoes. Costume items with bling may be considered.

The Art Couture Fashion Show is open to all artists. Three pieces may be submitted per artist that are for sale. Work may be of any natural, found object or recycled material. Fabric, fiber and metal are acceptable. Artists may submit one additional item for consideration that is not for sale. SCAA may select up to four items to be featured in the event that are not for sale. These items will be added to the show to engage the audience and will be pieces that are evocative and dramatic.

Artists selected will provide models for their items and will formally agree to the terms of the SCAA Art Couture Fashion Show and handle their own pricing and financial transactions. SCAA will not collect a commission fee.
