Guadalupe Montessori School (GMS) of Silver City is hosting a special Walk To School Day event for the GMS kids and parents on Wednesday, October 5 at 8 a.m.

Parents will drop off their kids at the north side WNMU FACT Auditorium parking lot for a short and safe walk to school on Mississippi St., under the highway 180 using the tunnel over which the highway passes. The walk leaves the parking lot area at 8:10 a.m.

The event will include coffee and tea for the parents, a scavenger hunt along the way, a prize raffle at the school, and some treats at the end of the walk.

Marcela Shepard, GMS Board Member and spouse of WNMU President Joseph Shepard, will offer words of welcome and some WNMU keepsakes. We also hope to see the Mayor of Silver City.
