Silver City, N.M., October 12, 2016 - Walmart stores are offering a rare, free chance to take an active role in your healthcare during Walmart Wellness Day.

The company is hosting the largest single-day health event in the nation with free health screenings expected to benefit hundreds of thousands of people, some who may be taking an active role in their health for the first time.

Last year Walmart stores nationwide offered free screenings for a variety of issues and will again be offering free screenings on Saturday from noon to 4 pm at stores across the nation including in Silver City.

Pharmacists will be on hand to offer free blood glucose, blood pressure, and vision screenings (where available), product samples and information on health insurance options. Additionally, more than 10,000 of Walmart's licensed pharmacists will offer immunizations in all Walmart pharmacies in the US.

The event will also include education, services, and products to help with a healthy lifestyle as Walmart stores nationwide host Walmart Wellness Day. Store pharmacists will be available to provide health screenings in Silver City.

Walmart Wellness Day will be from noon - 4 pm in New Mexico on Saturday, Oct. 15 in Walmart stores across the country, including Silver City.
