Quemado, NM, April 28, 2017' Campgrounds located in the Quemado Lake Recreation Area will open on May 1, 2017 including; Pinon, Juniper, and the El Caso I.

The El Caso II Campground is scheduled to open on May 19, 2017.

The El Caso III Campground will remain temporarily closed to public entry. In several of the campsites there are cottonwood trees with broken and dead limbs that pose a safety risk to the public. District personnel are responsible for maintaining this campground and efforts are underway to mitigate this hazard. Once mitigated the campground will be opened.

Recreationalists are being asked not to enter the El Caso III Campground. The entrance gate is locked and signs are posted around the campground perimeter.
