Krystyna Robbins RSKrystyna RobbinsThe Grant County Art Guild has announced their choice of award-winning Texas artist, Krystyna Robbins, to judge their 32nd Annual Purchase Prize Award exhibit that is open to all New Mexico artists. Krystyna Robbins comes to us from El Paso, where she has her studio and home. Her roots are in Poland and England and she has a degree in commercial art from New York City's Fashion Institute of Technology. Last August she had a one-woman show at the Governors Palace in Poland and conducted a workshop in Warsaw, Poland. Her "passion is in oils," Krystyna says, but she works in all media and she loves plein air painting, helping found the Plein Air Painters of El Paso. She is past president of the El Paso Art Association. Her paintings are in private collections and galleries at home and abroad. She is an associate member of Oil Painters of America. Many of her works have received awards,including oils, pastels and watercolors.

Krystyna will be judging the Purchase Prize Show that opens with a reception on September 19. As part of the Grant County Art Guild's mission to provide art education to the community, there will be a 3-day workshop, under the direction of Krystyna Robbins, that will be offered September 20, 21 and 22.
