After several weeks of hundreds of calls to hold a public town hall event Rep Steve Pearce's staffers site scheduling problems and decline to commit to his presence at the Town Hall meeting in Silver City. Constituents will, in any case, hold a citizens' town hall to voice their concerns and discuss recent developments in Congress at the Besse-Forward Global Resource Center, W 12th St, Silver City, NM 88061on the WMNU campus, Thursday June 1, from 6:30-8:30.

Frances Gonzales, a life-long resident of Bayard in Grant County's mining district, had also invited Rep. Pearce to a meeting on the same night.

Rep. Pearce chose to be present at a meeting in Bayard at the Sugar Shack restaurant, 1102 Tom Foy Blvd, Bayard, NM 88023, across from Cobre High School, June 1 from 6:30-8:30, a small venue with a 35 total capacity. This was the only venue available on the short notice Ms. Gonzales was given by Rep. Pearce's organization.

Rep. Pearce's constituents will therefore have two opportunities to have their voices heard. The Global Resource Center has a capacity of 285. Silver City Indivisibles have secured this venue, allowing for everyone's concerns to be documented on June 1, 2017. This meeting will be videotaped and presented to Rep. Pearce, due to his absence, to be sure constituents' questions are heard. All New Mexico District 2 residents: Bring your questions for Congressman Pearce.
