Silver City, NM, June 1, 2017- The Gila National Forest has scheduled a round of community meetings for June 12-16 to provide opportunities to interact with Forest Service staff and provide input on the next steps of Forest Plan Revision. The revised Forest Plan will provide the strategic direction for management of forest resources for the next fifteen years on the Gila National Forest.

Community meetings will occur on the following dates and locations.

June 13 5-7:30 p.m. Catron County Fairgrounds Building, Hwy 12, Reserve NM

June 14 5-7:30 p.m. Grant County Conference Ctr., 3031 Hwy 180 E, Silver City, NM

June 15 5-7:30 p.m. Albert Lyon Event Ctr., 2953 S Broadway, T or C, NM

June 16 2-4:30 p.m. NM Farm & Ranch Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Rd., Las Cruces, NM

In addition, there will be a technical meeting on June 14 from 10am to 3pm at the Grant County Conference Center in Silver City. The technical meeting is an opportunity for interested local governments, state/federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, and members of the public to learn about the finer details of the plan revision process and to have a more in-depth discussion.
