The 2016 Dias de los Muertos parade brought cheers from the spectators
as well as the participants at the annual event.

The Silver City Art Association invites artists in southwestern New Mexico to enter the 2017 Dias de los Muertos Poster Contest and Exhibit. The deadline for entries is August 15 ! The winning entry will be featured in flyers, posters and advertising for the Dias de los Muertos street festival taking place in Silver City October 30-November 4, 2017. This traditional community celebration and days of remembrance will again feature mariachi music, food booths, arts and crafts and much more. It is growing every year!

Submit digital images of your art by email to rebecca@visitsilvercity.org by August 15. You may enter up to 3 pieces and up to 3 images of each piece. Please include full description including dimensions and also your name, telephone number and email address. Well known local artist Fred Barraza will be jurying the entries and selecting the one to be used for advertising and promotion. There is no entry fee and the winner will be awarded a $100 gift certificate to Leyba and Ingalls Arts.
