Rev. Azima Forest to Talk on Spiritual Maturity Keeping Pace With Technology

Sunday, August 13 at 10 a.m., 3845 North Swan Street. "Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Fukushima: Can We Learn From Our Mistakes?" This Sunday will mark a week after the anniversaries of the bombing of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and six years after the nuclear disaster at Fukushima. Rev. Azima Forest will reflect on humanity's hubris in using death-dealing technologies, and how our technological knowledge dangerously outstrips our spiritual maturity. The service will also include a Children's Program focusing on the Fifth Principle: That all persons should have a vote about the things that concern them. Children will also participate in the service rituals, such as ringing the bell to begin and lighting and extinguishing the Chalice. There will be coffee and conversation after the service and visitors are always welcome.
