Small Business Saturday® is an annual holiday shopping tradition that last year generated a reported $15.4 billion for small businesses across the United States. Silver City MainStreet is promoting Shop Small and the downtown shopping district.

On Saturday, November 25, from 10 am to 3 pm, Silver City MainStreet will have a welcome station at The Hub, located at 600 N. Bullard St. Shoppers can pick up a free canvas Shop Small tote, enter free drawings, and participate in a scavenger hunt drawing for a $50 MainStreet gift certificate. Lists of businesses offering special sales or drawings will also be handed out.

"Downtown is a great place to shop, states Silver City MainStreet director Charmeine Wait. In addition to twenty-five galleries, downtown Silver City has twenty eateries, more than twenty retail shops and five antique shops. And don't forget The Silco Theater, a beautifully restored movie theater. If you have not been downtown in awhile, Small Business Saturday is the perfect day to shop downtown with the participating businesses offering special deals. The Lighted Christmas Parade is that evening and will begin at 7 pm. If you have out-of-town guests, bring them downtown and have some fun shopping and watching the parade."

The mission of Silver City MainStreet is "To encourage a vibrant, historic downtown Silver City which is recognized as the heart of our diverse community." Please visit our website, www.silvercitymainstreet.com to learn more.
