Silver City, NM, December 5, 2017 — The offices of the Gila National Forest, and the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument and Gila Visitor Center will be closed Christmas Day, December 25, 2017 and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2018.

Superintendent Kevin Tillman announced that the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument will be formally closed to the public. Persons entering the monument during closure periods are subject to ticketing and fines.

The offices and the Monument will resume their normal hours (Tuesday, December 26 and Tuesday, January 2) after the holiday. The forest will still be available, as usual, to all of our visitors.
