Reserve, NM, January 9, 2018—For Immediate Release. The Reserve Ranger District is planning to burn piles through the winter as weather conditions permit. The areas will be signed and posted for public awareness.

The plans for the Reserve RD pile burns include the following locations:
· SU slash pit piles; approximately four miles southwest of Reserve, west of State Highway 12 along FR 578
· Highway 180 Piles at Junction of HW 180 and HW 12. Adjacent to Rancho Grande Subdivision along Highway 180 and along Leggett Loop FR 4040L
· Black/Deer/Six Shooter Timber Sale Piles, approximately ten miles southeast of Reserve along FR 141 and Forest Roads 626, 626A, and 633
· Green Gate FR 4033P. Piles created from Pipe Fence construction

Smoke will be monitored to ensure that the New Mexico Environment Department’s Air Quality Bureau regulations are being met. Smoke-sensitive individuals and those with respiratory or heart disease should take precautionary measures.
