Congressional District 2 candidate Yvette Herrell, currently serving in the New Mexico House as Representative for District 51 (Otero), will come to Silver City to listen to Grant Countians and share her vision for New Mexico, Wednesday 21 March, according to a news release.

Herrell will be the guest speaker at the Grant County Federated Republican Meeting to be held in the Sunset Room at the west end of WNMU's cafeteria at 11:30 am. She will tour the county visiting business owners at their places of business. The public is invited to a "Meet 'N Greet" at 3:30 pm at the Farm Bureau Financial Services building located at 4505 Hwy 180E. A private reception will take place at 5:30 p.m. (please call 575.538.1623 if you are interested in attending to obtain an invitation to this function.)

"Join Yvette on 21 March. She wants to talk to you and answer your questions," a spokeswoman said. "She has a record of fighting for New Mexicans. She's not your rank-and-file Republican. During her seven years in New Mexico legislature, she has continued to reach across the aisle to make sure the interests of the people of New Mexico are best served She is a woman with the backbone who will continue the fight for us in Washington."
