Glenwood, NM, July 17, 2018—For Immediate Release. If you have the Catwalk National Recreation Trail and Whitewater Picnic Area as part of your travel plans this week, the Glenwood Ranger District needs for you to be aware of a "Watch Out" situation.
The three-person seasonal trail crew assigned to the Glenwood Ranger District will be working in the area above the final viewing platform. They are clearing out rocks, boulders, and clearing the trail for more optimal hiking opportunities. While the crew is working, there is the possibility of rocks or boulders rolling down the trail. Erick Stemmerman, Glenwood District Ranger said: "The crew will be there for the better part of this week. This could be a hazardous situation for either the public or the trail. We want our visitors to 'watch out' for themselves and the crew."
If you happen upon the trail crew please plan to move out of the way, or do a temporary re-route to avoid any possible injuries.
