GCAG features artists for weekend of August 17-19

cedar mesa kiva rs"Cedar Mesa Kiva" by Jackie Blurton won Best of Show in Photography in the GCAG Members' Opening Show earlier this year.This weekend's Featured Artists of the Grant County Art Guild at the historic Hearst Church Gallery in Pinos Altos, just up Highway 15 from Silver City are:  Ruth Hamby (Friday), and Jackie Blurton (Saturday and Sunday).

They are watchable wildlife that everyone can observe and enjoy every day. Through my art I hope to encourage people to get to know the birds that reside in their yards and gardens and make a place where they can thrive." She serves on the board of the Southwest New Mexico Audubon Society where she combines her art and love of birds with her conservation and education efforts. Her paintings and pillows are shown at the Pinos Altos Gallery. She has lived in Silver City since 1993.

Hop on Highway 15 North to Pinos Altos this weekend to meet the artists from 10:00 - 4:00 Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and view a unique historic church built in 1898.
