(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) – The PNM mutual assistance team concluded its work in New Jersey on Tuesday Nov. 13, and was released to return home. The crew departed the New Jersey area Tuesday and are expected to arrive in Albuquerque Friday afternoon.

Crews worked their way from the Baltimore area to northern New Jersey, restoring power for tens of thousands affected by “Superstorm” Sandy.

The team completed work for two different host utility companies.

The PNM crews along with nine bucket trucks, six line trucks and other utility vehicles will return to Albuquerque between 2 and 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. Families and employees are expected to be there to welcome them home.

The PNM crews assisted with a wide variety of post-hurricane restoration work, including the replacement of distribution poles and transformers, repairing downed electrical lines, running new services and repairing substation structures.

PNM is a subsidiary of PNM Resources, which also owns TNMP, a utility in Texas. TNMP crews were also released this week and are expected to return late this week.
