(Santa Fe, N.M.) – The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) is seeking public comment on a draft report for improving the air quality permit process in New Mexico.  The report “Improving Air Quality Permitting” summarizes findings and recommendations developed by NMED after several months of evaluating the air permitting program.  The Department looked to several sources in writing the report including air quality programs in other states, permit applicants, permitting staff and the general public.

“The recommendations in this report will give us a good start on enhancing our permitting services” states Ryan Flynn, General Counsel for the Department. “I am hoping to get candid feedback on the draft so that we know if we missed anything.”

The report may be found at: http://www.nmenv.state.nm.us/aqb/documents/AQB_Draft_Report_11_14_12.pdf
