Lake Roberts

Mimbres, NM; January 17, 2013-- In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the
Gila National Forest is waiving recreation fees for the weekend of January 19 through 21 at the Upper End and Mesa Campgrounds at Lake Roberts.

Due to the concern over frozen water pipes during the winter months, recreation fees are currently not being charged at the Piñon or Juniper Campgrounds (CG) at Quemado Lake and the Dipping Vat CG at Snow Lake. The Piñon and Juniper CGs are currently closed for the winter while the water is turned off at Dipping Vat CG. The Catwalk National Recreation Area is also not charging fees due to the partial opening of the area.

Gila National Forest offices that include the six Ranger Districts and the Luna Work Center in the Community of Luna, N.M., will be closed Monday, January 21, 2013 in observance of this national holiday. Normal work hours will resume Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
