Congressman Salmon Joins Congressional Western Caucus

Washington, D.C. (January 30, 2013) – Today, Congressman Matt Salmon (R-AZ) announced his membership with the Congressional Western Caucus. The Caucus is in its twentieth year of advocating for Western and rural interests in Congress.

 
“It is an honor to join the members of the Congressional Western Caucus and advance issues important to western states, such as Arizona,” stated Representative Salmon.  I look forward to working with my western colleagues to safeguard our vast resources from the encroachment of a federal government that continues to use the false promise of protecting our lands as a way of barring Americans from enjoying and utilizing these treasures.  So often the federal government encroaches on western resources resulting in locking up our energy and over-regulating our industries and businesses.  Together, we can work to safeguard the livelihood and values of the west so they will be here for generations to come.”

Salmon was elected to serve the 5th Congressional district of Arizona in 2012. He serves on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere.
