TerryBarber PRESS

On Saturday, February 23, the Grant County Community Concert Association will bring the extraordinary talent of countertenor Terry Barber to the stage of the WNMU Fine Arts Center Theater. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m.

With an exceptionally broad vocal range and natural fluency in a wide array of musical styles, Terry Barber is a performer in a class by himself. He has been featured on some of the world's most prominent stages and has worked with many of the music industry's most prestigious songwriters, composers and producers. Whether performing classical or popular favorites, he "breathes new life into everything he sings," and crafts what the Los Angeles Times calls "performances of great vitality and verve."

As a member of the multiple Grammy-winning ensemble Chanticleer, Terry was called "...the jewel in Chanticleer's crown..." With them, he worked his way through the repertoire, performing opera, classical, gospel, jazz and folk music in a dozen languages at over a hundred concerts around the globe. Now, wherever he appears, Terry seems to garner rave reviews.

For non-subscribers, admission will be $20 for adults and $5 for students to age 17. Tickets can be purchased at Alotta Gelato or Thunder Creek/Western Stationers in Silver City, online at www.gcconcerts.org  or in the lobby at the time of the concert.

A subscription to the remaining three concerts in this GCCCA concert season, including this concert, is just $45. The next two concerts will feature the La Catrina String Quartet on March 23 and The Side Street Strutters on April 12.
