SOAR, which stands for SSI/SSDI Outreach Access & Recovery is a model for helping homeless people with disabilities successfully apply for SSI/SSDI. Nationally, 73% of all SSI/SSDI applications completed using the SOAR model are approved on initial application within an average of 91 days.

Since space is limited and  we are only able to offer this training a couple times a year, we want to make sure that those most able to do SOAR applications attend the training. Therefore:

*   In order to be eligible for the SOAR training, you must complete the registration form. In addition, your agency's executive director must sign the Letter of Understanding. By signing the Letter of Understanding, you and your director commit to you doing four SOAR applications a year. It is important to realize that doing a SOAR application is very time-consuming, but effective. One SOAR application can take up to 30 hours to complete.
*   The deadline to submit the registration form and Letter of Understanding is 5pm on Friday, March 1st.
*   The SOAR Steering Committee must approve your registration. Once your registration is approved, we will email you with the details of the training (i.e. location).
