Goathead Path – Arenas Valley
States he ordered some things from JC Penny by Christmas and never got them/JC Penny is saying they were delivered/he checked his cameras and didn't see anything delivered. Officer made contact with caller.

Injuring/tampering with motor vehicle
11072 W. Highway 180 – Hillside Haven
Caller advised someone removed a lug nut off the front and back tires. Deputy made contact with caller who wanted to know if the frequent patrol was still in place for the residence until Jan 18.

Owner is sleeping in vehicle/will attempt to wake him up/male moved along.

Someone took money out of the cash drawer/the person who took the money had a key and took the money last night/they have video.

Welfare check
Tracy Circle
Caller is acting erratic and says someone broke in last night/caller says his parents are harassing him about doing drugs. Officer advised everything is okay/he left for a counseling appointment.

Linda Marques-Tollefson to speak to Rotary

Linda Marquez-Tollefson will be the Rotary speaker on January 23, 2024.
Marquez-Tollefson is the Coordinator of the Youth Substance and Prevention Coalition Program in Grant County. Topic: “Coping Methods That Can Work.”

Venue: The Rotary Club will meet at the WNMU Student Memorial Building, Sunset Room, Second floor. The meeting is from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and guests may purchase their lunch by paying the cafeteria cashier $10.75, and going through the cafeteria line.

As its first evening program in 2024, on Friday, January 19th at 7:00 pm, the Gila Native Plant Society will sponsor a presentation entitled “If you Plant It, They Will Come: Meet the bees in your neighborhood and their favorite native plants” The presentation will be given by Oliver Neria, PhD student at the University of Texas at El Paso, based on his research. Oliver will give a brief overview of our native bees and their life histories, floral preferences, and nesting behaviors, as well as strategies that thoughtful gardeners can use to create useful bee habitat.

Walmart Wellness Day get a healthy start to the new year

Walmart invites New Mexico residents to get a healthy start to the new year with the first Wellness Day of 2024, happening this Saturday, January 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Customers can receive free glucose, cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure screenings as well as affordable immunizations like COVID-19, flu, RSV, tetanus, hepatitis, HPV and more at pharmacies nationwide.

Additionally, in select markets in-store giveaways and demos of nutrition, lifestyle and wellness products will be available throughout stores.

Caller stated a named male has been walking around/believes he had no shoes on. Officer out with the male/en route with male to Seasonal Overnight Shelter.

Smith Ranch Road – Silver City
62-year-old male found unconscious/not breathing/face down. Caller advised she cannot get him to ground to do CPR/is doing CPR while husband is on the bed/he is getting cold. GCSO deputy requested OMI.

123 W. 12th Street – 4:04 a.m.
A named gentleman is lying at the front doors.

Highway 180 – Santa Clara
Semi between Santa Clara and Bayard driving at a high rate of speed/ran the stop light and ran caller off the road. XCPD officer advised semi was not recklessly driving and driving at a normal rate of speed. BPD officer followed vehicle to Highway 180 E. – everything is okay.

Suspicious vehicle
Mi Ranchito Food/Tortilla – Central Avenue
Officer advised juvi was in back of location trying to take pallets.
