CELEBRATE OUR FIRST FULL DECADE OF COMMUNITY RADIO with Gila/Mimbres Community Radio / KURU 89.1 FM.
Donations will be doubled by a dollar-for-dollar matching grant of $5,000 from the New Mexico Local News Fund, and when that match has been met, challenge grants from the station’s supporters will match additional donations. Donors will receive one of the station’s new T-shirts with GMCR’s distinctive logo, as an appreciation gift, for a new monthly subscription of $5 or more. Throughout the week special features will be added to our regular programming of entertainment and information, all of it tailored to the needs and interests of Grant County and our listening region. The regular monthly board meeting of the Grant Soil and Water Conservation District will be held Monday December 18, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the NRCS Building; 3082 32nd Street Bypass; Suite C; Silver City, NM 88061. The meeting is open to the public.

White car with lights on has been there since 2:30 a.m. Officer advised wrecker on scene/wrecker picked up vehicle.
Chala Werber to speak at Rotary Meeting

Chala Werber will be the Rotary speaker on December 12, 2023. Werber’s topic will be: “The WNMU greenhouse and possible future greenhouses, as well as Tree Campus USA designation, and the possibility of an official campus-wide arboretum.”
Born in Muir Beach, CA, Chala first came to this area 1974. She is multi-lingual as a result of having lived in 5 different countries and having spent at least one summer in 4 others. Chala has attended several universities but earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees at WNMU. She has had successful careers in high-end fashion sales, non-profit management, graphics, and tech before settling on horticulture. She is currently the Horticulture Coordinator for WNMU, and above all she is the mother and sole parent of an “amazing” 15-year-old girl.
The Rotary meeting will be held at the Silver Bowling Center, Ten Pin Lounge at 2020 Memory Lane, Silver City from 12-1 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public. If you desire lunch, order from the menu in the cafeteria and it will be delivered to your table.

Caller advised two females were hit by a named female/it had to do with someone getting someone else's property. Officers requested ambulance for two females, 45 and 51-years -of age, complaining of being hit in the abdominal area/transporting the named female to Mountain View Senior Apartments.
Disturbance
Big Ditch and Visitor Center
Advised he can hear two males yelling at each other. Made contact with a named male who is okay/he is mentally unstable and is on narcotics.
