ALBUQUERQUE – The Association of Commerce and Industry of New Mexico (ACI) has announced the hiring of Jason Espinoza as Vice President of Government Affairs, and Eric Layer as Vice President of Communications and Member Relations.

"I'm excited to welcome Eric and Jason to ACI's leadership team" said Beverlee McClure, President and CEO. "Together, they bring a diverse and dynamic array of skills and experience to the table that will serve ACI's members well. I look forward to working with both of them to take our mission of educating and advocating to the next level."

Jason Espinoza, an Albuquerque native, has more than half a decade of experience in government affairs, coalition building, and lobbying the New Mexico State Legislature. Prior to joining The Association of Commerce and Industry of New Mexico, Jason served as Field Director for a statewide think tank. He has worked on several successful legislative initiatives to enhance the business climate in New Mexico including increasing the qualifications for Public Regulation Commissioners, establishing an independent Office of the Superintendent of Insurance, reducing unnecessary regulations on the motor transportation industry, and creating a one-stop online portal for all business filings.

Jason has a master's degree in political management with a concentration in advocacy politics from The George Washington University. He attended Albuquerque Academy and is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Arizona State University with bachelor's degrees in political science and history. Jason lives in Albuquerque with his wife Brittany and their daughter, Kensington.

Eric Layer, also a native of Albuquerque, has been involved in New Mexico politics since before he could vote. After an internship in the White House Office of Media Affairs, he joined the staff of Congressman Steve Pearce, where he served as press secretary and communications director, managing social media, press, and messaging at the state and national level. He looks forward to using his experience to help improve ACI's visibility and public engagement.

Eric received his master's degree in politics, philosophy, and economics from the University of York in England, where he studied as a Truman Scholar. He graduated from New Mexico State University with Distinction in University Honors in economics. Eric lives in Los Lunas with his wife Shannon.
