Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico State Parks that announces that although Manzano Mountains State Park is open for recreation after being closed for two years, the park is currently experiencing issues with the water lines and is working diligently towards getting them fixed as soon as possible. Portable restroom facilities remain available to use and park officials encourage visitors to bring potable water with them until the maintenance issues are resolved.

“We are pleased that Manzano Mountains State Park is now open,” said State Park Division Director Tommy Mutz.  “However, we are working on getting the park infrastructure back up to par after being inactive for an extended period of time.”

While the park was operated seasonally in the past, State Parks hopes to operate the Manzano Mountains year-round, depending on weather and wildfire conditions.  Camping reservations for the park can be made online at www.nmparks.com or toll free at 1.877.664.7787.  Please visit our New Mexico State Parks website for more information on parks and programs.
