Roswell, NM – Bottomless Lakes State Park, located along the Pecos River Valley and known for its beautiful, deep lakes that offer loads of outdoor fun, is hosting their 28th Annual Paddle Board Races on Saturday, August 2, from 1-3 p.m. in the Lea Lake Recreational Area.

"Paddle boarding is great exercise, a lot of fun and a popular activity in our State Parks with lakes," said Bottomless Lakes State Park Manager Joe Kasuboski.

Great prizes will be awarded for all age categories: 8-younger; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14, and 15 and older. Registration to compete in the race is free; however, day-use fees to enter the park apply. Contestants can sign up at the park the day of the race.

Always make safety your number one priority—being prepared on the water and wearing lifejackets saves lives. The State Parks Division offers FREE boating safety classes around the state and on-line throughout the year.
