Las Cruces: The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One office and La Calerita Construction continue with work on the bridge construction overpass on I-10. The contractor will need to close the eastbound off ramp on Monday August 4, 2014 for approximately 8 days.

The westbound on ramp will continue to be closed in order to reconstruct the ramp at Avenida de Mesilla on to I-10.The I-10 eastbound off ramp will be closed in order for the contractor to complete the placement of concrete pavement on the ramp, curb, shoulder and curb improvements at the intersection of Avenida de Mesilla and I-10 ramp.

The closure of the westbound on ramp should be lifted by Friday August 8th, with the eastbound off ramp restrictions lifted by Monday August 11, 2014. Motorists traveling east on I-10 from Deming can access Motel Blvd (exit 139) or University Avenue (exit 142). Westbound access to I-10 can continue to follow the detours that have been in effect for the past few months, along Valley Drive and Motel Blvd.

Traffic restrictions still will remain in effect for I-10 east and westbound traffic with detour notifications posted alerting motorists to utilize I-10 at University (exit 142) and Motel Blvd (exit 139).

Lane restrictions will remain for NM-28/Avenida de Mesilla between Hickory Drive and Lakeside Drive (mile marker 29.5 to 29.1); motorists are encouraged to reduce speed and to proceed with caution during peak hours.
