Average Wage of $14.90 for July Jobs, $25.16 for Companies Awarded in August

Santa Fe - The New Mexico Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) Board approved $581,514 at its July meeting for five companies that will create 125 jobs averaging $14.90. In August, the JTIP board also approved $996,627 in funding for seven companies that will create 71 jobs with an average wage of $25.16. The next JTIP meeting will be Friday, September 12 at the CNM Workforce center in Albuquerque.

"JTIP is an important program designed to help New Mexico companies create better paying jobs and expand their workforce," said Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela. "JTIP's continual effort to help offset on-the-job training is an important tool helping companies expand their workforce and individuals gain new skills leading to better paying wages."

July JTIP Recipients:

Green Theme Technologies, LLC, Albuquerque - Green Theme Technologies is working to providing high-quality textile finishing at a low capital and operational cost and has worked closely with Under Armour Inc. for the past twoyears to develop and patent a novel chemical finishing technology that provides better and more permanent water repellency than any other product or technology on the market today. Green Theme Technologies' finishing technology does not require large amounts of water, is environmentally-friendly and is free of fluorocarbons and other hazardous chemicals. Under Armour has made a corporate decision to replace their current fluorocarbon treatment with the Green Theme Technologies' finishing technology and has introduced a plan to adopt the technology across their apparel product line. $60,970, 5 jobs

PESCO, Farmington - Process Equipment and Service Company Inc. (PESCO) is a family-owned company founded in Farmington in 1970. With 315 employees, and nearly 100,000 square feet of production space, PESCO has become a leader in engineering, manufacturing and servicing production equipment for the oil and natural gas industry in the Rocky Mountains, throughout the United States and the world. $ 287,148, 40 jobs

CITS, Albuquerque - Canon Information Technology Services, Inc. (CITS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon USA, Inc. and was incorporated in 1998. Until April 2014 CITS had operated from its location in Chesapeake, VA, with over 600 employees. CITS provides customer support to end users and business partners of Canon USA via telephone, email and web-based services including chat, social media and knowledge based tools. $146,556, 59 jobs

EcoPesticides International, Inc., Albuquerque - EcoPesticides International, Inc. was founded December 15, 2012 by the New Mexico Start Up Factory, a business incubator established by the New Mexico Angels, to fund and commercialize technology developed at the University of New Mexico. The company was formed to develop novel, environmentally friendly, biologic-based pesticides that stop harmful insect pests and aquatic weeds without harm to people or the environment. $11,920, 1 job

Sierra Peaks, Albuquerque - Sierra Peaks has a 40 year history of developing electromechanical systems to meet their customers demanding operational challenges. Sierra Peaks is a full service design and build supplier with a wide variety of customers both commercial and government, including the aerospace and automation industries. Sierra Peaks specializes in prototyping and small production runs. Taking ideas from design through production leverages the companies' competencies in engineering, development, fabrication, and production. $74,920, 20 jobs

August JTIP Recipients:

NICOR, Inc., Albuquerque - NICOR was formed in the early 1980's in order to fulfill a need for ceiling fans within the Lighting Showroom niche of the lighting market. NICOR manufactures over 2000 products including Ceiling Fans, track lighting and recessed lighting. Other specialty lighting products such as LED Under Cabinet, Alluminator and EcoBay High Bay fixtures, entrance chimes and emergency lighting have been introduced over the years. NICOR has a manufacturing facility in Zhongshan City China, branch distribution offices in New York, Michigan and Florida and is headquartered in Albuquerque. $ 89,410, 10 jobs

3D Glass Solutions Inc., Albuquerque - 3D Glass Solutions Inc. was founded in 2006 as Life Bio Science Inc. and began commercial sales in 2009. The company provides customers a one-stop shop for the design, prototyping and production of next-generation glass micro-devices, circuits and bio-arrays. Imagine Education, LLC, Taos - Imagine Education, LLC is a self-funded startup established in 2009 by co-founders Dr. Scott Laidlaw and Jennifer Lightwood in Utah, to create a dynamic game-based company in the growing "serious games" market. In 2010 the company moved its operations to Taos. $26,730, 1 job

J.W. Industries, Inc., Albuquerque- J.W. Industries, Inc. was founded in 1976, in Albuquerque.For 40years the company has built a successful reputation by focusing on prototype development and design engineering services. $50,020, 4 jobs

Positive Energy Solar, Santa Fe - Positive Energy Solar provides off-grid solar system design and installation services. In 2006, the company opened an office in Las Cruces and one in Albuquerque in 2009. Each office has sales, design, materials, project management and installation personnel. The company provides solar design and installation services for homes, businesses and institutions. $314,962, 28 jobs

The Job Training Incentive Program reimburses qualified economic-based companies for a portion of training costs associated with job creation. The program provides for classroom or on-the-job training, reimbursing an expanding or relocating business for up to 75 percent of a trainee's wages for as long as six months. The amount of the award depends on the number and complexity of jobs, the wages paid, and the business location.

To qualify, new or expanding companies must either create a product in New Mexico, or provide a non-retail service with 50 percent of the company's costumer or revenue base outside of the state. The eligible jobs must be full-time and year-round. The trainee must be a new hire to the company and have been a New Mexico resident for at least one year at any time prior to being hired.
