I-10 Las Cruces
Southern New Mexico State Fair
Eastbound traffic

Las Cruces: The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will have traffic notices posted along I-10 west of Las Cruces alerting motorists of congested areas due to the Southern New Mexico Fair, which is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday October 1st. Lane restrictions and reduction of speed will be posted near the Doña Ana Fair Grounds for motorists traveling on the Frontage Road, and on I-10 from east of Corralitos to just east of the Las Cruces Airport exit (mile post 131 to 132.3).

Law enforcement will be present to enforce these restrictions and remind motorists to obey traffic control as they enter and exit the fair grounds. The restrictions will be stationed during the weekend hours 3:00 pm until 12:00 am (midnight) starting Thursday, October 2nd and lifted by Saturday, October 4th. Law enforcements primary concern is the safety of the traveling public, and motorists are encouraged to exercise extreme caution as they enjoy the festivities this weekend.

Trent Doolittle, District One Engineer stated. "With all of the activities currently ongoing, it is critical that we all play a key role in monitoring our driving behaviors. If you are planning on traveling out to Fair, please schedule sufficient time as you may encounter delays during event peak hours."
