"Power for Progress"
www.PowerforProgess.com offers facts on utility's operations, community outreach,
& move to cleaner resources

(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) – PNM today launched a new website dedicated to showing how the company balances delivering reliable power at affordable prices and protecting the environment. http://www.PowerforProgress.com is designed to be a resource for the facts about PNM's operations and strong community support efforts, and it clearly outlines the company's innovative and comprehensive plans for building a sustainable energy future for New Mexico.

"The Power for Progress website is the result of our customers saying they want to know more about what we do, how we produce energy, and how our future planning includes more investments in renewable energy," said Jo Ann Newton, PNM's vice president of external affairs. "PNM has been delivering power for progress for nearly 100 years, using our expertise, resources, and knowledge of New Mexico to serve our customers with reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible power. The Power for Progress website shows why it's important to think about energy, and explains the facts about the many actions PNM is taking to continue to provide this essential service and deliver true value to our customers."

Key highlights of the Power for Progress website include:

• An explanation of PNM's proposed plan for San Juan Generating Station, including how it would result in a dramatic reduction in the company's use of coal-fired generation and increase in cleaner resources such as natural gas and solar energy;
• A detailed summary of all the energy resources PNM uses to generate electricity, including a significant amount of renewable energy from wind, solar, and geothermal sources, and how the company is moving toward a more balanced mix;
• Demonstrating how, dollar-for-dollar, electricity is among the most affordable services, and the many PNM energy efficiency programs available to help customers save money; and
• Outlining the millions of dollars the company contributes and the thousands of hours donated by employees to support community organizations.

The website also provides information regarding PNM's proposals filed with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission. "We want to make sure that there is a place to go for the facts and the reasons behind the actions we take at the Commission," added Newton. "We understand people are passionate about how energy is produced, and we want our customers to have an easy to read place to find the facts."

Another important part of the website is the "What's Happening" section, which features posts from a broad and diverse group of PNM employees, both current and retired. "PNM employs more than 1,500 New Mexicans. They're your friends and neighbors, they volunteer in the community, and they are committed to ensuring the best quality of life for everyone in our state," said Newton. "We want our customers to better know the people who truly make PNM a great place to work and an important part of New Mexico."
