Five Selections from 1,000+ Suggestions

ALBUQUERQUE, NM -The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta officials have announced the five selections for the 2016 Balloon Fiesta Theme Contest. The five ideas were selected from over 1,000 themes submitted by Balloon Fiestas fans, who submitted more than 1,000 ideas. Balloon Fiesta officials are asking for help selecting the winner.

Beginning May 29, the public will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite theme. The Balloon Fiesta team has selected the following entries:

Adventure with Altitude
A Desert Kaleidoscope
Get Carried Away...
High Expectations
Sk-eye Candy

Balloon Fiesta fans can vote for the 2016 theme by visiting http://contests.balloonfiesta.com/. The voting will begin May 29, 2015 and continue until 11:59 p.m. MDT June 11, 2015. Only one vote per email address will be permitted.

A tradition since 2013, Balloon Fiesta officials have held a naming contest to find the perfect theme for the following year's event. In 2014, Beth Robinett of Topeka, Kansas suggested the 2015 winning theme, "Where Dreams Take Flight."

The contest winner will receive a prize package which includes a balloon ride, Gondola Club admission for two and exclusive merchandise customized with the winning theme.
