Gilbert J. James, 87, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM. surrounded by his family.

He was born June 10, 1928 in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Florence E. James of the family home; two daughters, Chris James of Las Vegas, NV; Barbara James of Silver City; one son, Stephen F. James and wife Sandra of Tracy, CA; six grandchildren, Rob Thomas, Jenny Kennedy, Cassidy Wolf Gibson, Tiffany Sires, Jasmine Richard and Jared James; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernadette Heacock of Tucson, AZ.

No service will be held at family's request. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to High Desert Humane Society 3050 S. Cougar Way Silver City, NM 88061. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
