NMEDD, Funding Agencies Call on Communities to Submit Economic Development Project Proposals for Funding Opportunities
Deadline for communities to submit a project for consideration is November 15

Santa Fe, NM - The New Mexico Economic Development Department will host the next FUNDIT meeting November 29 to help local leaders identify funding for economic development projects. New Mexico FUNDIT, is a streamlined approach to help communities identify funding opportunities in one centralized location by bringing local, state and federal funding agencies together to analyze and compare proposals for capital projects. The state is calling on communities to submit project proposals by November 15 for review during its upcoming meeting.

The group of funding agencies meets regularly to review potential projects. Their goal is to improve the effectiveness of project review and support, while ensuring communities have the information they need to obtain full funding for projects.

New Mexico FUNDIT is important for helping communities identify funding across local, state and federal agencies that will invest in projects to grow the local economy. The program helps them save time by meeting with funding agencies in one location which helps ensure funding is there to complete projects and that tax dollars are spent in the best possible way. The program also helps local communities, especially in rural areas, create jobs and improve quality of life.

The types of projects to be considered include:

  • Business Development
  • Community Development
  • Infrastructure Development
  • Housing Projects
  • Downtown Redevelopment

The meeting will take place from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 29 at
WESST Enterprise Center, 609 Broadway Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. For more information, to submit a project application or to RSVP contact Johanna Nelson at Johanna.Nelson@state.nm.us, 505-827-0264.
