A total of $372,015 is available for scrap tire management grants, and $31,755 is available for illegal dumping and recycling project grants. Grant funding may be spent on offsetting the cost of scrap tire collection and recycling, establishing recycling facilities, purchasing equipment, performing marketing, purchasing products produced by a recycling facility, providing educational outreach, developing recycling infrastructure, abating illegal dumpsites, and contracting with vendors to promote recycling. A list of grants funded over the last ten years is available for review on the NMED Solid Waste Bureau website at http://bit.ly/1Xh9yF1.
