May 1, 2017: Santa Fe, NM- The “Tee Off For Ted” memorial golf tournament will be held on Saturday, June 10, at Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe. All proceeds will benefit the Ted S. Lopez Memorial Scholarship at the University of New Mexico, in support of veterans. The event is in tribute and memory of Ted Lopez, proud Navy veteran & UNM alumnus.
This tournament enables individuals to participate in three different possible ways:
”Tee Off For Ted” is a tournament for all golfers, at all skill levels. The format will be a four-person team scramble. Tournament day check-in for the 18-hole full course begins at 8 a. m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Tournament day check-in for the par 3, 9-hole course begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Entry fees are $125 per player ($115 for veterans) for the full course and $75 per player ($65 for veterans) for the par-3, 9-hole course. All entrance fees include continental breakfast, range balls, green fees, cart, and catered lunch. Lunch is $20 per person. Prizes will be given for contests such as a long drive prize, a closest to pin prize, putting and more.

About Ted S. Lopez:
Ted served as the Communications Officer on the USS Anchorage LSD-36 for the United States Navy from 1972-1975. At the age of 62, he earned his Executive MBA from the UNM Anderson School of Management in October of 2013. Ted then served as the Director of the Small Business Development Center at UNM-Los Alamos where he consulted with New Mexico business clients, until he passed away June 15, 2016.
