Washington, DC (May 24, 2017) Congressman Steve Pearce released the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released the updated score of the American Health Care Act (AHCA):

"Our nation's health care system is in complete collapse, and Congress was left with two options - fix it, or allow hardworking Americans to shoulder the cost. Millions of Americans, in New Mexico and around the nation, are facing skyrocketing premiums, increasing deductibles, and diminishing access to care. The American Health Care Act is the first step of many to correct the root problems that are intertwined in our health care system. Today's CBO score confirms our efforts in Congress will work towards lowering premiums, reducing our nation's deficit, and lifting the financial burden off the backs of taxpayers. Only then can we empower middle-income and working-class folks by delivering real solutions instead of empty promises."
