  • Traffic updates are posted on the NMDOT traffic advisory web-site at http://nmroads.com and can be retrieved through our automated system at 511 in New Mexico or 1-800-432-4269 from any line.
  • Las Cruces and El Paso Gates will be closed on October 18th from 9:00 am to 10:15 am due to a Full-Scale Exercise. If you have business on or off the post during these hours, please reschedule or plan your travel accordingly. Interstates:

I-25, Mile Marker 41 to 58.29, Hatch CN 1101460
FNF Construction, INC. (Contractor) continues with roadway rehabilitation operations along I-25. Motorists can expect continued lanes closures on both northbound and southbound lanes for final surface course. Hours of operation will be from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2017.

I-25, Mile Marker 144.2, Luis Lopez/Socorro
Hasse Construction (Contractor) will continue with bridge repairs on NM 1 mile post 57.3. Interstate traffic will encounter intermittent lane closures while the work is being performed. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.

I-25, Mile Marker 154 to 157.839, Lemitar CN 1100660
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with bridge replacement and roadway reconstruction on Interstate 25 in Socorro Co. Interstate traffic is now detoured off of the northbound lane and onto the southbound lane encountering temporary wall barrier along the detour. A 12' width restriction will be in effect throughout the project. Hours of operation will be from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2018.

US Roadways:

US 70, N Main, Solano, 3 Crosses, Mile Markers 149.2 to 149.5, Las Cruces LC000120
AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently performing roadway Reconstruction, Lighting and Signalization operations on US 70 / Solano Dr. / 3 Crosses Ave. / N Main St. Traffic will encounter lane closures and a detour. Construction will be from 5:00 am to midnight, 7 days a week. Construction is scheduled to be completed by fall 2018.

US 70, Mile Marker 162 to 170, Organ Pass LC00240
Mountain States Contractors, Inc. (Contractor) continues with roadway rehabilitation operations along US 70 in Dona Ana Co. Traffic will encounter lane closures intermittently with eastbound and westbound exits closed off to all traffic as needed. The closure will be in effect from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2017.

US 180, Mile Marker 47.4 to 164.4, Cliff, Silver City, Deming CN9900725
San Bar Construction (Contractor) continues with signing and post replacement project along US 180, starting at the intersection of US 180 and NM 159 (Mogollon turn off) and will progress southbound along US 180. Traffic will encounter a flagging operation at times while work is being performed in areas with no shoulder. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Construction is expected to be completed by winter 2017. The contractor is working in the Silver City area.

State Roadways:

NM 498 "Racetrack Drive" Mile Marker 0.600 to 0.900, Sunland Park CN E100140 **New Construction**
Hasse Contracting Co., Inc. (Contractor) will begin bridge replacement and roadway reconstruction. NM 498 will be closed during construction. All traffic will be detoured to Sunland Park Drive, Futurity Drive and NM 273 (McNutt Road). Hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. Construction is scheduled to be completed by summer 2018.

NM 138 "Tortugas Drive" Mile Marker 0.038 to .0564, Las Cruces C1150926
Smith & Aguirre (Contractor) continues with the Roadway Reconstruction on NM 138. Traffic will encounter lane closures and possible flagging operations during working hours. Hours of operation are from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and 7:00 am to Noon on Saturday. Construction is expected to be completed by winter 2017.

NM 320 "Thorpe Road" Mile Marker 1.7 to 1.876, Las CrucesC1150921R
Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing curb & gutter with sidewalk and drainage improvements, traffic could encounter possible flagging operations. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by winter 2017.

NM 273 "McNutt Road" Mile Marker 5.6 to 5.8, Sunland Park CN E100210R
Kiewit (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction and storm drain culvert installation operations. Traffic will encounter lane closures and possible flagging operations. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, daily. Construction is expected to be completed by winter 2017.

NM 1 Mile Marker 57.3, Luis Lopez/Socorro
Hasse Construction (Contractor) will continue with bridge repairs. Traffic will encounter a closure of the bridge on NM 1. Construction is expected through Saturday the 21st. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

NM 11 "Columbus Hwy" Mile Marker 26 to 34, Deming
Braiser Asphalt (Contractor) has completed roadway reconstruction; traffic will encounter slow moving traffic while striping is performed. Rural roadways may encounter delays for pilot car operations. Hours of operation will be from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. Construction will be daily till roadwork is complete.

NM 159, Mile Marker 8 to 10, Mogollon CN ER14103
La Calerita Construction, LLC, (Contractor) has completed roadway & drainage improvements on NM 159; traffic should however still expect delays due to the contractor completing last items.

Chip Sealing – Las Cruces and Dona Ana County:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing "Chip Sealing" operations in Dona Ana Co. Speed limit will be reduced, no center stripe and loose gravel on roadway, striping to begin in October. Traffic will encounter lane drops with pilot car and flagging operations.

NM 185 "N Valley Drive" mile post 12 to 14
NM 320 "Thorpe Rd" mile post 0 to 1.5
NM 157 "Fort Selden Rd" mile post 0 to 1.5
NM 158 "Lujan Rd" mile post 0 to 1.2

Las Cruces Projects – City of Las Cruces:

Amador Avenue
From Mesilla St. to Miranda St. will have lane closures to through traffic. A road closure for S. Melendres St. between W. Bowman Ave. and W. Amador Ave. and a road closure for S. Melendres St. between El Molino Blvd. and W. Amador Ave. Access to residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.

Arroyo Road
From Red Hawk Golf Road to Sonoma Ranch Blvd will be closed to through traffic. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed and follow detours around the construction zone.

Brown Road
From Valley Drive to Circle Drive will be closed to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.

Church Street
From Bowman Avenue to Amador Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.

Clark Road
From Valley Drive to Bruins Lane and Bencomo Lane to Clark Road will be closed to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.

Farney Lane
From Turrentine Drive to Apollo Drive to El Paseo Road will be closed to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.

Lavender Drive
From Elks Drive to Rio Bravo Way will be closed to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.

Main Street
From Griggs Avenue to Bowman Avenue will be closured to through traffic. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Three Crosses
From Alameda Blvd to Spitz Avenue will lane closures to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.

Valley View Avenue
From Lavender Drive to 500 feet west will be closed to through traffic. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.

Water Street
From Bowman Avenue to Main Street will have intermittent lane closures. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.

W Hadley Avenue
From N Mesilla Street to North Reymond Street will have lanes closed to through traffic. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed through the construction zone and should proceed with caution.
